The idea and initiative for USET have come from three academics from Bangladesh origin working abroad: Prof. MD Solaiman of Griffith University, Australia, Dr. Mazharul M Islam Rana of Bath University, UK and Prof. Bibhuty Roy of Bremen University, Germany. Due to their long-standing academic work experience in world-renowned Universities in different developed countries (Australia, Germany, France, Italy, and the UK), USET will get the opportunity for connecting and collaborating with those countries and beyond. Through their worldwide connections, USET will have the advantage of attaching junior and senior academics working offshore with visiting and adjunct positions. The incumbent Government has been doing extraordinarily well to maintain the ‘middle income’ status of Bangladesh. Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has recently said that Bangladesh will achieve the goal to become a middle-income nation by 2021, three years ahead of the deadline set by the World Bank. She has been working tirelessly for transforming Bangladesh into a ‘developed’ nation by 2041.

Our Achievements

The University of Skill Enrichment and Technology (USET) received approval both from the Ministry of Education in Aug 2019 and the University Grants Commission in February 2020 . USET received the approval of its curriculum on 19 February 2020. USET started classes on 8 March 2020. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, the government announced a nationwide lockdown from 18 March 2020. In this critical situation, with the guidance and supervision of Professor Md Solaiman, Founder Chairman, USET, the dynamic academic, and administrative staff immediately started its online class via Zoom to support the education of its students.

USET is a University for 21st century, it has been designed to create skill workforce from technical and vocational education system to developing a pathway to higher education for the workforce. To maintain its vision for higher education, the university is working the whole time to support its student and prepared the whole education system on the digital platform.
